HOT NEW RELEASES LIST FOR
20th CENTURY HISTORICAL ROMANCE !!

In the depths of the Great Depression,
Ellie suffers another crash—that of her marriage.
She’s left struggling to restore her shattered life,
feeling as damaged as the stained-glass panels
she refurbishes for Chicago’s historic structures.

While visiting her aunt in Marietta, Ohio,
a charming river town,
Ellie encounters towboat captain Wyatt
and feels a searing attraction to him.
But thanks to past and subsequent wounds,
trying to open herself to love seems futile.
Her hope for love and her determination
to find the place she belongs
are further complicated by her tendency
to make impulsive decisions.

In her journey, Ellie draws on an unrealized
level of courage and learns she must identify
her brightest passions in charting her course.

About the Author

Dottie scratched out her first attempts at fiction as a kid transfixed by the books she read . . . Curious George and Nancy Drew, Gone with the Wind and Little Women . . . all those lazy summer days on the front porch swing of her small-town, Midwestern home.

When not managing the interlibrary loan department at a college, Dottie contributes to multiple newspapers and magazines. Her short stories and non-fiction pieces have won many awards.

Where the Stars Cross is her first novel.

More About the author
the setting for Where the Stars Cross
Marietta, Ohio

Why Marietta?

Marietta, Ohio, is the primary setting for Dottie's novel Where the Stars Cross. An enchanting river town, it features old brick buildings, riverboat rides, grand old mansions to tour,
ghost walks, trolley tours, great restaurants, and friendly people.

The oldest permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory,
the town was founded way back in 1788!

Marietta is one of Dottie's favorite places to visit, as are Chicago and Oak Park, where other scenes take place.

Harmar Bridge

Some key scenes in Where the Stars Cross take place on the wood-plank walkway of Harmar Bridge,
which links mainland Marietta to its westernmost side, the historic Harmar Village.

The bridge was constructed in 1856 for horse-drawn vehicles and later fitted with railroad tracks. This is the oldest swinging railroad bridge and the only remaining hand-turned swing bridge in the United States.

Fundraising is now underway to restore this venerable treasure.

Levee House Bistro

The charming building housing the Levee House Bistro, a terrific waterfront restaurant, was built in 1826.

Over the years, the structure has housed a dry goods store, a hotel, a saloon, and a hardware store, as well as the token house of ill repute.

This is the only one remaining of a string of Federalist-style buildings that once lined Marietta's riverfront.

And the restaurant -- fantastic food in a profoundly unique location. It's prominently featured in Dottie's novel as the Levee House Cafe.
